IS YOUR FIBRE BROADBAND CABLE INCORRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE ARCHITRAVE?
The picture (below) shows where the fibre cable has come through from the junction box in the communal corridor into an apartment. However, the cable has been glued/attached to the architrave meaning that repairs to fire doors cannot be completed. In some cases, the cable has been run along the whole side of the door architrave, down to the skirting board.
1. Cable entry
2.Architrave around door
3.Cable attached to Architrave
4.Cable off to your router

If your fibre broadband cable has been installed and is fixed to the architrave, you need to get your broadband provider to get it moved before booking a Fire Door repair. If not when the contractor attends, they will try and work around it but can take no responsibility if it is damaged and you lose your internet connection.
Your broadband should be installed along the green tick lines and cannot be installed / attached to the door along the red cross lines.
If fire door engineers can’t complete your repair in a single visit due to cabling issues, you will be charged for additional resources accordingly (return visits etc).
